Detroit Observatory
The Detroit Observatory is adjacent to the University Hospital complex and Nichols Arboretum. Containing two telescopes, it was the first observatory in Michigan and the second in the Midwest, and is the second oldest building remaining on campus. Viewing Nights are a collaboration between the Bentley Historical Library and the Department of Astronomy, with the help of dedicated volunteers. Availability depends heavily on good weather, so please check the website in advance, and plan ahead for parking.
Viewing nights change monthly and are weather permitting. Check website for the latest schedule.
