Creators on Campus
The U-M Arts Initiative Creators on Campus program promotes the value of artists on our campus and encourages members of the U-M community to integrate creative vision and dynamic thinking of working artists into learning, outreach, and research.
The staff of the Arts Initiative has conducted a series of focus groups with diverse groups of artists to determine best practices for developing working relationships. We welcome members of the U-M community from any unit to consult with Arts Initiative staff to develop calls for artists, to think through how to approach partnerships and programming, and to generate ideas about which artists' practices best align with the unit's goals. We work with U-M units who have not worked with artists-in-residence and units who want to expand or open access to existing programs that work with artists.
