Support the Arts Initiative
Your gift to the U-M Arts Initiative will expand access to the arts on campus and beyond, activate them in student learning and integrate the arts into research across disciplines. Your support strengthens the arts ecosystem of southeast Michigan while also shaping national and global understandings of how the arts can lead social change.

To honor the legacy and administrative practice of Marvin G. Parnes, who managed the Arts Initiative in its earliest days, his colleagues, family, and friends have established the Marvin Parnes Arts-Integrative Research Fund at the U-M. This fund will be used to infuse the arts across all fields to spark new thinking and interdisciplinary exploration, including:
Interdisciplinary convenings drawing upon the expertise of students and faculty across the U-M campus to explore new research opportunities.
An annual week-long Collaboration-Lab (C-Lab) and other individual workshops designed to bring nascent research teams together to deepen their collaborative skills and refine research plans to author successful research programs and grant proposals.
Faculty-focused events intended to create a community of researchers across the fields of research to catalyze interdisciplinary work.
