Nurturing Natives- Grey Fox
The grey fox is an omnivore that inhabits mostly forested and woody areas throughout North and South America, and tends to pray on small animals while also eating nuts and berries by climbing trees! These wolves have stunning grey coats and cat-like faces that makes them different in appearance to another Michigan native, the red fox. Unfortunately, due to hunting and global warming, the grey fox population is declining. Part of this is due to hunters not differentiating the less abundant grey fox from the more abundant red fox, and classifying them all as the same species.
