Faculty Affiliate
Membership

The Arts Initiative invites University of Michigan faculty to become Faculty Affiliates. Affiliates help shape and strengthen Arts Initiative programs by offering feedback and insight to better serve campus & faculty needs.

  • Faculty Affiliates must hold a current U-M faculty appointment—tenure-track, research, clinical, or lecturer—on any campus (Ann Arbor, Dearborn, or Flint) in any department. Emeritus faculty are also eligible. Graduate students are not.

  • Faculty Affiliates may choose to:

    • Receive targeted updates on new funding, research, and teaching opportunities.

    • Join periodic Zoom discussions about Arts Initiative programs and funding.

    • Attend colloquia, conferences, workshops, and social events that foster interdisciplinary arts research.

    • Self-nominate to serve on Arts Initiative funding review committees.

    • Propose or lead arts-related workshops for colleagues, students, or the community.

  • Complete the Faculty Affiliate application form. Accepted members will serve a renewable three-year term.

Faculty Forums

Upcoming Forums:

The Arts Initiative’s Faculty Forums are an opportunity to connect with Arts Initiative Executive Director Mark Clague and Director of Operations Alison Rivett to learn about upcoming programs and share your feedback. The Arts Initiative welcomes input from Michigan faculty on what’s working well, what could improve, how we can better support collaboration across campus silos, and ways to expand the impact of the arts across campus.
