Nurturing Natives- Blackburnian Warbler
With fall migration nearing a close, you might see this brightly colored bird snacking on insects during early mornings in the Arb! The Blackburnian Warbler is a palm sized warbler that uses Michigan as a resting place during it’s vast journey from the northeastern United States and southeastern Canada towards northern South America! Males are easily distinguished from other warblers with their fiery orange throats, and the species is of least concern in North America.
