Critter Comix Week 3 !
Not gonna lie, this week’s been kind of rough. I made the mistake of watching the new Chainsaw Man movie by myself, which was basically emotional self-sabotage. I walked in expecting chaos, gore, and a bit of catharsis. I walked out emotionally drained, staring blankly at the credits while everyone else around me cried in groups. There’s nothing quite like being destroyed by fiction and then having no one to debrief with on the way home.
Then came Halloweekend. While my friends were out living their best chaotic-costume lives, I was taking my little brother trick-or-treating, making sure his shark tail didn’t drag in the mud. It was actually kind of sweet, seeing him light up with every handful of candy, but I won’t lie, passing by groups of people in neon wigs and fake blood heading to parties stung a little. My big Halloween thrill was sneaking a Reese’s from my brother’s stash.
To top it all off, everyone I usually hang out with has been super busy this week, so I’ve had way too much solo time to spiral about small things. Case in point: I lost my Apple Pencil. My beloved, slightly overpriced, digital art soulmate… gone without a trace. Which means this week’s comic is going old-school. Pencils, pens, eraser crumbs, the whole deal.
It’s been a quiet, kind of lonely week, but maybe that’s not the worst thing. Maybe a little analog chaos is what I needed. Still, if anyone finds an Apple Pencil wandering around campus looking lost, tell it I miss it dearly.
