Nurturing Natives- American Robin
This friend is the state bird of Michigan, and signals the beggining of spring when it leaves its roosting flock to claim land and start a family! The beautiful American Robin is one the most beautiful members of the Turdidae family, also known as the “true thrushes”! These birds are also one of the most widespread birds in the Americas, stretching from the northernmost point of Alaska to the far south of South America. Look for them in your yards or around campus in the morning searching for fresh worms to eat!
