A woman stands looking at a to-do list stretching to the ground, with “Vote” in all caps at the top of the list.
This cartoon created by Laura Cencer as part of the Michigan Daily’s Opinion cartoon section features a woman standing with a huge scroll of paper titles “Mid-Sem To-Do List”. The scroll stretches all the way down to the ground, but only one task to-do is explicitly written: “#1: VOTE”. This piece conveys an important message. Data shows that young people ages 18-29 consistently have the lowest voter turnout rates among all age groups. While this is an incredibly busy time of year for all students on campus, it is extremely important for all who are eligible to make time to vote - this piece emphasizes the importance of voting.
You can view Cencer’s piece on the Michigan Daily’s website HERE, and can find information about voting on campus at GoVote.umich.edu. Election Day is tomorrow: Tuesday, November 3rd!
