Critter Comix Week 14 !

A redraw of a panel from "Chainsaw Man"s final panel.

!!!CHAINSAW MAN MANGA SPOILERS BELOW!!!!

The new Chainsaw Man final chapter dropped, and Iโ€™m not saying it emotionally destabilized me, but I am saying I had to sit there for a minute and justโ€ฆ process. Like, you ever finish something and just stare into space because your brain hasnโ€™t caught up yet? That was me. And I still havenโ€™t had the chance to decide whether or not I mess with the ending. However, seeing everyone in collective psychosis over the ending has had me knee slapping in laughter.

Meanwhile, in real life, my little brother just got his college decision back, and he got waitlisted. Which, to be clear, is still good. Thatโ€™s a good outcome. A โ€œyouโ€™re still in the runningโ€ outcome. But emotionally? Itโ€™s a weird place to land. Not quite rejection, not quite acceptance. Justโ€ฆ suspended.

And in true sibling fashion, instead of handling this in a normal, grounded way, he decided our best course of action was to turn it into a bit. Specifically, he wanted me to draw us in the format of the currently trending CSM panel:

A panel from Chainsaw Mans final panel, that everyone canโ€™t help but find so ridiculous that itโ€™s funny.

In an attempt to mimic the CSM art style, my cats today finally have mouths! How fun!

So while Iโ€™m over here trying to recover from fictional trauma, heโ€™s already pivoted to humor as a coping strategy. And honestly, I respect it.

Sometimes life doesnโ€™t give you closure. Sometimes it gives you a waitlist and a devastating manga chapter in the same week. And at that point, all you can really do is laughโ€ฆ and maybe draw about it.

P.s. I couldnโ€™t decide on a color, so Iโ€™m dumping my other color options below.A black and white version, as well as one thats just slightly less colored.
