Jon Rush
1990; Stainless Steel; Sculpture
Central Campus; Thompson Street side of Institute for Social Research
By “inverting one ‘cage of triangles’ against the other,” Rush sought to symbolize ISR’s work in the study of social change. A professor of art at the U-M’s School of Art & Design from 1962–2006, Rush is also the sculptor of Sunstructure, a piece at the Matthaei Botanical Gardens, as well as Onus and the Koszonom Raoul Wallenberg Memorial, both on North Campus. Made possible by a grant from the Michigan Commission on Public Art and gifts to the U-M.
