Matthaei Botanical Gardens

Matthaei Botanical Gardens is a 350-acre site that offers an indoor plant conservatory, classroom and meeting spaces, greenhouse, and outdoor sites for research, display gardens, native plant gardens, natural areas, and ongoing ecological restoration. Ongoing educational programs and exhibitions are presented year-round. Admission is free and open to the public; there is also no charge for the Conservatory, but donations are welcome. The property is also available for events and performances.

The conservatory and surrounding gardens are maintained by U-M’s Matthaei Botanical Gardens and Nichols Arboretum.

Summer Conservatory Hours (Mid-May–Labor Day): Daily 10am–8pm

Winter Conservatory Hours (Labor Day–Mid-May): Monday–Tuesday, 10am­­–4:30pm Wednesday, 10am–8pm Thursday­–Sunday, 10am–4:30pm

Matthaei Botanical Gardens Trails are open 7 days a week year-round, sunrise to sunset.
