Celebration of Women and Film

Celebration of Women and Film

The Center for the Education of Women’s 50th Anniversary will kick off at the Michigan Theater with a gift to the community. The evening will include a free program of specially selected short films by and about women, along with birthday festivities. Oscar winning film director Cynthia Wade will discuss her documentary, “Mondays at Racine.” Community partners committed to women’s causes will celebrate their work alongside CEW. This event is free and open to the public.

Director Cynthia Wade has a proven track record for presenting dramatically compelling and emotionally gripping documentary stories. From tender coming-of-age stories of children for Sesame Street to emotional portraits of teens for the Sundance Channel, Cynthia has an unusual talent for revealing surprising human moments – all with unparalleled craft and creativity. She will comment on the films, especially her own, “Mondays at Racine” and have a Q and A after the program.

Date: January 14, 2014 – 7:00pm – 8:45pm

Location: Michigan Theater, 603 East Liberty Street, Ann Arbor, MI 48104
