The Arts Initiative seeks U-M students to join the inaugural cohort of Arts Initiative Creative Fellows to develop creative ideas and projects inspired by the theme ‘Arts & Resistance.’ Students from across the university who become Creative Fellows will work with a Lead Artist Facilitator on interdisciplinary artistic projects with their student peers and arts mentors.
The cohort of Fellows will develop ideas related to the theme “Arts & Resistance” and present their creative interpretations in a final showcase. Creative Fellows worked in the areas of performance, social engagement practices, visual art and image-making, and digital installation among others – the fellowship is inclusive of medium, concept, and approach.
All students are encouraged to apply – formal arts background or specialization not required.
Fellows will receive:
- A $500 fellowship stipend (paid at the end of the fellowship)
- Access to project funds for supplies and implementation of projects
- Mentoring by artists
Who can apply:
