CAP has been providing a community theater experience for Chelsea and its surrounding areas for over 35 years. Our productions include large scale musicals, dinner theater, and a vibrant youth theater. Volunteers are needed in various areas of production of our shows, but primarily we have a need for individuals with experience in Publicity and Marketing. We also welcome volunteers for other "behind the scenes" positions such as costuming, stage management, and many technical positions.

This University of Michigan Health Systems program serves to bring art and music to patients, visitors and staff. Programs include art galleries, a bedside music program, bringing framed posters to patients' rooms, the Life Sciences Orchestra as well as a variety of events.

Performance Network is Ann Arbor's only resident professional theatre company, affiliated with the Actor's Equity Association of professional Actors and Stage Managers. They have several opportunities for volunteers to join them. They are always looking for ushers (who get to see shows for free!) and for experienced help with striking their sets. They also have several opportunities throughout the year to help out in the office with their major mailings and postering efforts.

Over 25 years age, Wild Swan Theater was created to provide the highest quality theater for young people and families and to make that theater accessible and affordable to everyone. Volunteers are need to help with ushering, fundraising events, and assisting with touch tours and audio-description for blind audience members. A great opportunity for mentor groups to usher and bring along their young friends.

Internships with UMS provide experience in performing arts administration, marketing, publicity, production, and arts education. Semester- and year-long internships are available in many of the University Musical Society's departments. While interns are not paid, many are able to receive course credit for the experience.

The Purple Rose Apprentice program is an intense, unique, hands-on opportunity for college graduates to gain practical professional theatre experience by working in all areas of the theatre, alongside professional directors, designers, stage managers, actors and administrators. Each apprenticeship is a full-time position, requiring an exclusive 12-month commitment.

Performance Network is Ann Arbor's only resident professional theatre company, affiliated with the Actor's Equity Association of professional Actors and Stage Managers. They offer students an opportunity to gain pratical, real-world experience in arts management and production, and meet important contacts in the professional theatre community. Each year three apprentices receive a cumulative total of 137 weeks of paid hands-on training in the areas of Stage management, House management, backstage crew, wardrobe, marketing and customer service.
