"Hi, I'm Ailene. I am a freshman in LSA and I'm thinking of concentrating in English or History and taking a minor in French. My hometown is Toronto, Ontario; however, I've lived in Troy, Michigan for the past four years. My interest in the arts is extremely broad (the list is endless) so I'm ecstatic to be a part of the COTA project this year. As for my main tie to the art world, I am a dancer. This year I will be dancing on the Michigan Dance Team. I am mostly trained in classical ballet, but I love jazz, lyrical, and hip-hop as well. My favorite dance companies are the American Ballet Theatre and the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater. I am definitely not a visual artist myself, but I have a great appreciation for a wide range of art forms, especially French painting and sculpture. I am also interested in theatre and particularly musical theatre. Aside from my artistic interests though, my favorite things include fashion, New York City, writing, traveling, and hanging out with friends. In the future, I would like to pursue a career in law or medicine."
