Facts about the audience:

  • Over 5,000 people travel on the AATA buses each weekday.

  • The AATA has over 4.4 million riders annually.

  • Approximately 15% of the ridership are U-M faculty, staff, or students, while 9% are K-12 students.

  • Seniors, individuals with disabilities, and low-income riders represent 13% of the AATA ridership.

  • More than 350,000 rides are taken by individuals who participate in the go!pass program and work in downtown Ann Arbor, While 312,000 rides are taken by individuals with a 30-day pass. Tantalizingly, 1,028,100 rides are taken by individuals who pay a cash fare and are simply known as the general public. The remaining rides are tranfers (15%), youth under 5 and special promotions (8%), and Eastern Michigan Shuttle rides (3%).
