The eighth play of August Wilson's ten-play cycle chronicling the African American experience decade-by-decade. Set in 1985, KING HEDLEY II tells the tale of an ex-con in Reagan era Pittsburgh. King is a two-bit thief recently released from prison and trying to rebuild his life. Scratching in the dirt behind his home King tries to give birth to that new life—but death is not far away. A driven man with a hair trigger temper, King will stop at nothing to get what he thinks is owed him. Life and death are balanced on a razor's edge. KING HEDLEY II is a big play with big emotions, rich with humor, heartbreak and the ordinary kind of pain that go into creating real life. This is August Wilson's most haunting piece.
Please note: This show includes some mature language and violence.
