Les Grands Ballets Canadiens makes an exciting Detroit Opera House debut with a three-part program of dances by Jirí Kylián, a figurehead of today's classical dance.

Six Dances (Sech Tänze). A whimsical ballet in six seemingly nonsensical acts. It features music by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, along with choreography, sets and costumes by Kylián, and lighting by Joop Caboort.

Bella Figura. Kylián's stunning choreography is a journey through time, light and space, addressing the ambiguity of aesthetics, performances and dreams. Featuring nine incredible dancers, Bella Figura highlights the beauty of the human form. Audiences should note that the dance does include partial nudity, and may not be appropriate for all patrons.

Forgotten Land. Inspired by the Expressionist paintings of Edvard Munch, Forgotten Land features Benjamin Britten's brilliant Sinfonia da Requiem, along with sets and costumes by John Foster MacFarlane.

Audiences should be cautioned that portions of this program contain partial nudity.
