Picturing Freedom: Photographs from the American Civil Rights Movement
This small exhibition of Ernest C. Wither's photographs captures pivotal moments in the Civil Rights Movement from the late 1950s to the late 60s. One gelatin silver print depicts Dr. Martin Luther King being stopped by police at Medgar Evers's funeral. Another documents the subsequent eviction of a Tennessee family who voted in 1960. Though decades old, these powerful images continue to resonate with diverse audiences.
