The Finals Concert will be held at the Detroit Opera House in Detroit, Michigan. This exciting concert features the three Senior Division Laureates competing for final placement accompanied by the Sphinx Symphony Orchestra, comprised of leading Black and Latino musicians from orchestras throughout the country. The orchestra will perform under the direction of guest conductor, Paul Freeman, Music Director of the Chicago Sinfonietta. Special guest artist for the concert is cellist Patrice Jackson, 1st Place Laureate of the 2002 Sphinx Competition. A current student at Juilliard School, Ms. Jackson has appeared as a soloist with the Philadelphia, Detroit, Dallas, Atlanta, New Jersey and St. Louis Symphonies, among others.
