Submit a Photo to "As I See It"

"As I See It" is a forum for the artistic perspectives of students, faculty, and staff of the University of Michigan. Members from all walks of the University are encouraged to submit art as they see it in the form of a photograph that can be displayed on our website.

Guidelines for Submitting a Photo

Please take your photos with a digital camera or scan non-digital prints with a quality scanner. Submissions that are taken with cell phone cameras or are otherwise low-quality will not be used. Crop your photo to 500px by 333px. It can be horizontal or vertical. If you do not have the necessary software, send it in the raw format and we will crop it for you. Submissions smaller than these dimensions will not be used.

If you have one or more photos that meet these guidelines, attach them in an e-mail to arts.photo@umich.edu. In the body of the e-mail, please include the following:

• Your name
• University affiliation (position or school/year)
• Date photo was taken
• Photo's title
• Short caption describing your photo
• A short explanation of why you were drawn to the image you send in
• If you include more than one photo, please make it clear which one belongs to which date/title/caption/explanation.
• If you have a personal or professional website, include the URL and we will post it with your photo
• Don't forget to attach the photo!!!

The Arts at Michigan staff will select photos for "As I See It" from among those submitted. Photos not used in a particular week may be kept for future use. All photos displayed on the site are available in the archives. Photos not selected for the website will be posted on Facebook. Once submitted, Arts at Michigan reserves the right to use your photo in marketing materials or on the website.

Each photo submitted this semester will be entered in a drawing for a great mystery prize at the end of the year!
